We blend fresh-squeezed color with holiday tradition to serve up lighthearted living and dining rooms that sparkle with cheery Christmas charm. Heather Bailey’s Pop Garden & Bijoux fabric collections from Free Spirit Fabric mix together beautifully with vintage holiday décor to create the freshest-ever holiday home. We kick off this series of projects with Citrus Holiday: Lighthearted Living Room. With ten projects for your living room, plus an inspiring article on creating atmosphere using an eclectic mix of old and new, modern and traditional. In early September, we begin another set of tutorials for your dining room, plus a how-to for setting a citrus table. It's a bumper crop of juicy ideas.
Citrus fruit is at its peak during the holidays, and we use it in a deliciously lovely way to enhance and tie our holiday home together. Add in a fabric collection full of tangy color, and even Ebenezer Scrooge would have to smile. We started early so you have plenty of time to follow along with us as we roll out this new batch of tutorials.

Our Fabulous Fabric: Heather Bailey's Pop Garden & Bijoux

Heather Bailey's Pop Garden & Bijoux are coordinated collections from Free Spirit Fabric, and we love them as holiday fabrics. The colors are in tune with our citrus theme and seem to invite the addition vintage buttons and sunny pom pom trim. Pop Garden & Bijoux are made up of three colorways: Poppy Leaf, Butterrose and Sugar Mallow; we selected fabrics from all three. With these sister collections, you can really mix and match endlessly, so take a look at the full selection by clicking on the above links and choose your favorites.

Citrus Holiday: Lighthearted Living Room Tutorials

Elf Stockings. They have turned up toes, pom poms and are customized with an initial. A stocking this winsome will lead Santa to believe you've been exceptionally good all year long.
Perky Pom Pom PillowsThese little tufted pillows are so enchanting as a group; bet you can't make just one. They are surprisingly easy when you make your covered buttons using an inexpensive kit.
Patchwork Pom Pom Throw. It's a generous square of ultra plush Minky fleece trimmed in a patchwork of fabric and jumbo pom poms. It's so deliciously thick and cozy, it will be everyone's first choice on a winter's eve. You might need more than one to keep the peace.
Simply Quilted Patchwork Tree Skirt. We chose eight spirited prints from the Pop Garden collection to create a field of lively color to accent your holiday tree. We've trimmed it in red and closed it with two fetching red bows.
Bits & Pieces Felt OrnamentsWe made our ornaments from scraps of fabric and trim, leftover buttons and craft felt. While we used a simple hand stitch on ours, you can also sew these up quickly on your machine. The key is to use what you have and be creative.
Patchwork Table Topper with Vintage ButtonsYou'll love the sweet button trim on this heartwarming table topper. We used all white or off white vintage buttons in random sizes and styles; so tactile, so captivating!
Reversible Gift & Wine BagsThese gift bags are a gift in themselves. They can be reused again and again or reversed for a whole new look. What a great way to add your personal touch to a gift or a special bottle of wine.
Elegant Hexagonal PillowSix tassels add graceful sophistication to this stunning pillow. It's all you need to spice up your sofa. We'll even each you how to make the tassels.
In-a-Word PillowA lumbar pillow with a message on one side. Make your own word from our downloadable alphabet. We chose "SIT!" for that endearing person who is always asking if you need another cookie, something to drink, or perhaps a fresh napkin.
